They erased last week's plan and wrote this in its place. Hilarious! I have to say I wasn't surprised by the pancakes, waffles, tacos, and pizza, but seeing "Calchips" (AKA Kale chips) on there made me smile! We had a break-through this week, and after years of declaring kale chips "gross" Evan finally decided he likes them (woot! score! hi-five!!!!!) Now I just have to hope we get some in our CSA box this week.
I can't say we are following this plan to a T, but in the intereste of compromise I decided to incorporate some of their ideas into our week. (They do keep reminding me that they decided on the meal plan) Ahem, but I reminded them that they are welcome to stick to it if they want to be the ones cooking every night. Deafening silence... yeah, I thought so. No one wants to be in charge of cooking every night !
So here's what I came up with:
Sunday: Maple Roasted Salmon, maple-bacon brussel sprouts (winging this! I hope it comes out yummy!), roasted sweet potato.
Monday: Chinese Chicken on Noodles, sliced oranges
Tuesday: Brinner! I will let the kids choose from pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage and fruit that night... and yes, they will be helping me make dinner! I will have a couple eggs, and some sautéed greens.
Wednesday: Easy Crockpot Chili , this is a no-brainer, I have leftovers in the freezer, might cook up some cornbread to go with it!
Thursday: Dad is in charge! I'm going out with some girlfriends, so he can make tacos or do whatever he feels like.
Friday: Panera - kid's choice and I won't argue, it is right across from Friday night hockey practice.
Saturday: Sausage, Butternut Squash and Broccoli Rabe Pasta, salad
The past couple weeks I have gotten off track with my fitness and eating and I am feeling it -- so I'm excited to get back in gear and start a whole new program -- p90x3! Between the 21 Day Fix clean eating plan and p90x3 workouts, I'm hoping to have my groove back ASAP! p90x3 is all 30 minute workouts (totally do-able 6 day/week), so I'm hoping to in the best shape possible before the holidays hit. I will be modifying some of my recipes to fit in with the 21 Day Fix program, and share most of these on my instagram (@freshmamablog) -- so check it out! If you have any questions about the 21 Day Fix or any of my fitness programs, leave your email in the comments or pop me an email at lil@freshmama.net !
Have a great week everyone!
